HECC is offering to graduate and post-graduate students the opportunity to apply for a research grant of up to $15,000 to conduct research relating to the mission and objectives of HECC.
Applications should describe projects based upon basic and/or applied research towards increasing our understanding of injury mechanisms and injury prevention in ice hockey through the use of protective sports equipment. Projects related specifically to equipment design are not appropriate. Projects analyzing athletic performance are not appropriate.
HECC invites you to send your proposal to the Chairman of the HECC Research Committee at . Proposals should include a Title, Main Body (including Significance, Specific Aims / Research Objectives, Background, Methods, Main Outcome Measures, Deliverables), References and a budget with a brief justification and projected time frame (maximum of one year) for completion. If human subjects are included in the research, an explanation of the Institutional Review Board (or similar office) process to be used must be provided. The Main Body of the proposal should not exceed six (6) pages. Please also submit with your proposal your curriculum vitae or NIH formatted biosketch. HECC allows a maximum of 10% institutional overhead included in the total award amount not to exceed $15,000.
